Kevan Morin is a professional advertising photographer based in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
With over a decade of experience working all over Canada the USA, he has covered a wide variety of photography work from food & hospitality, fashion and portraits, industrial and architecture - to professional sports and more.
I got my first camera in 2001 while attending college in Montreal - it was a tiny 3MP rectangular looking thing from Canon. In hindsight, it was sort of a terrible camera and truthfully, I started off as sort of a terrible photographer, but it changed my life.
In 2025, cameras have changed a lot and my skillset and experience has vastly improved, but my love for photography is as strong as it was the first night I went out capturing images of Montreal architecture when I was 18.
I owe a lot of what I know now to 20 year (at the time) professional photographer Curtis Comeau. We worked all over Canada for over 10 years and I learned a lot about what to do - what not to do - and the reality that being a good photographer is more about being a people person and a savvy business person than it is about how to use a strobe light.
At the end of the day, I’m just happy pushing camera buttons and telling stories, either visually alone or combined with word. It may sound cliche, but I believe there really is a story in everything and in everyone. As I get older as a photographer, I’m really just trying to improve on that task in any way I can.
When I don’t have a camera in hand — I’m more often than not out exploring New Brunswick with my wife and kids. Okay, admittedly, I usually have my camera in hand when we do that, but otherwise I’m usually busy with a number of things — I am an avid cyclist, sci-fi enthusiast, constant reader and I’m still a gamer at heart (insert of Henry Cavill saying “PC” with a sneer) and both my kids have taken up the hobby, so it’s an absolute joy to play game with them when I can.
Cheers,
